Short Assignment: Oral Presentation
The oral presentation requirement is to be combined with one of
your other short assignments (book review, software, media or policy).
Alternatively, you may choose to prepare an oral presentation on a
completely different topic related to the class.
You will be randomly assigned a date for your presentation
(presentations will start on January 25). You may trade dates with
another student if necessary.
The structure of the oral presentation is:
- Generally, oral presentations will be at the start of class.
- You may use the computer projector or overhead if you want, but
this is not required. (For presenting one of your short assignments,
you could simply link to the assignment.)
- Your presentation should last no longer than 10 minutes, including
time for questions. Your presentation should last at least 1 minute.
- Your presentation should include at least one question or item
for further thought that will help to stimulate discussion or
introspection.
The oral presentations will not be graded, but are required.
